Space engineering and product assurance

ECSS

ECSS standards can inform requirements for space engineering and product assurance, including parts, materials and processes. Project tailoring, contractual requirements and the mission context determine the applicable approach.

Engineering application

Select the method in context.

Begin with the product, mission profile and the governing qualification or procurement requirement. Record the exact document revision, selected test conditions, sample plan, measurements and failure criteria in the programme plan.

Interpretation and limitations

A test reference is not a life claim.

Passing a test demonstrates a result under the defined conditions. It does not automatically demonstrate a particular service life, cover every failure mechanism or establish suitability for a different environment. Review differences between test and service conditions explicitly.

Spacerel support

Connect requirements to the qualification evidence.

Spacerel supports applicability reviews, qualification-gap assessment, programme planning and interpretation of test results. Standard references describe the engineering approach; they do not imply Spacerel certification or accreditation.
