Automotive discrete semiconductors
AEC-Q101
AEC-Q101 addresses stress-test qualification for discrete semiconductor devices in automotive applications. SPACEREL supports qualification-gap assessment, programme planning and review of test evidence against your device, package and intended use conditions.
Engineering application
Planning an AEC-Q101 qualification review
Begin with the discrete semiconductor device, its package and the governing customer or procurement requirement. Record the applicable document revision, selected test conditions, sample plan, measurements and failure criteria in the programme plan. For an initial review, gather the device datasheet, supplier qualification report, relevant manufacturing or design change information, intended operating conditions and customer requirements. Identify which evidence applies to the device and package you intend to use, and where further assessment or testing is needed.
Interpretation and limitations
What does AEC-Q101 evidence demonstrate?
Passing a test demonstrates a result under the defined conditions. It does not automatically demonstrate a particular service life, cover every failure mechanism or establish suitability for a different environment. Review differences between test and service conditions explicitly.
Spacerel support
AEC-Q101 qualification support from SPACEREL
Spacerel supports applicability reviews, qualification-gap assessment, programme planning and interpretation of test results. Standard references describe the engineering approach; they do not imply Spacerel certification or accreditation.

Discuss the engineering challenge
A clear requirement is the first step.
Send your device details, supplier qualification evidence, intended operating conditions and customer requirements. SPACEREL can help identify gaps and plan the engineering work needed to assess qualification evidence.
